PMT Conservatory

This program is for students ages 13-18

This package includes our Technical Theater program, running all day on Saturdays, and a Monday night Tech Theater / Design class. This program provides students with a unique look behind the curtain by offering in-classroom and hands-on experiences in the full range of technical theater disciplines. Students will develop the skills needed to analyze text, create conceptual drawings and presentations, communicate their thoughts and ideas in a professional manner, and improve their teamwork skills.

Topics of study include basics of design in set, lighting, costumes, sound, and properties. The program also includes courses designed to prepare students to communicate and collaborate with a team of designers. Hands-on experiences will range from technical theater communication and safety to courses where students will learn carpentry, painting, sound editing software, sound console operation, the science of light and lighting, and programming industry standard lighting software.

All of these courses will culminate in the student's ability to work alongside PMT's professional designers on student and professional company productions.

A $25 registration fee is included in this package price. There is no prerequisite for this package.
